Hello! 👋
If you’ve reached this page, you’ve probably recently joined Chatwoot or want to contribute to our marketing in some way. Either way, we’ve made this Marketing Playbook to let you know of the things we’ve got set up so far, the mindset and functional processes we follow at Chatwoot, what we expect in terms of quality and how to go about things in general. If you’re passionate about the ecosystem of digital marketing, this playbook shall also be helpful for your skillset.
TL;DR: Sorry, this option is not there. :P Read this guide and we promise it will be the best time investment of your day today.
The basics
What is marketing, what does it look like for early-stage startups, what is the mindset a modern digital marketer should have, and how it shall help you, Chatwoot and the community of our stakeholders and startups in general.
Different aspects of digital marketing
Content, SEO, social media, community marketing, email marketing, promos, branding, and much more. We’ve tried to include how to go about most of the things in this playbook. We’ll keep adding more as we go along.
Remember that Chatwoot is an early-stage startup. We may not have a lot of things figured out yet – in terms of processes, structure, and resources. But, that is exactly where the fun of working here lies, i.e. bringing all these missing things to the table. We give a lot of space to our team to build and learn. If you feel like we can improve something, we’d love for you to speak up and take ownership if possible. If it ever starts to feel overwhelming or frustrating – you are very welcome to speak to any of the founders or team leads about this. We try to ensure that this stage never comes up, but if it does, we’re here for you. We shall learn and grow together. 🚀
Disclaimer: We’ve written the next couple of sections to get you thinking as we do at Chatwoot. Anyway, our strongest suggestion is to not skip the next couple of sections.
Having the right mindset as a professional is extremely important. After all, this defines how you spend more than 8 hours every day. If you get into the right mindset, you’ll never feel demotivated to work again. So, read on as we explain what marketing means in its truest sense.
So, forget about all the marketing jargon you’ve fed to your brain for a while. Let’s understand this first: Someone one day identified a gap in the market and decided to build a product as a solution. They intended to genuinely help society (the ‘target audience’ in marketing terms). They were able to get some positive responses from the folks who tried out their product.
But they felt lost in the online world. So, they got you on the marketing team. Their purpose was simple: they wanted your help getting more people excited about their product before the sales team could convert them. Now step back a little: what they really want you to do is join their mission of genuinely helping society. So your job as a marketer is simple: Let the people know that we’ve got a product for them that is going to make their life easier. This is your mission.
But, isn’t everyone doing this to earn money? Sure! However, the point we’re trying to make is that money by nature is a by-product of the impact you create in society. Larger the impact, the more the money. So, even if your primary motivation is getting rich, understand that you’ll get there faster if you chase the right cause.
